Continuing Our Journey

On August 15, I’ll be stepping into the role of CEO of Instacart, a company I’ve been proud to help shape over the past six years. The journey so far has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I’m deeply honored to lead Instacart as we keep building on everything we’ve started.

Instacart plays a vital role in how people shop, eat and care for their families. Together with our partners, we’re shaping the future of grocery, and more importantly, helping people meet everyday needs and making their lives a little easier. That’s what has always inspired me most about our mission.

Our work going forward builds on a remarkable foundation. Under Fidji’s leadership, Instacart transformed from an essential service into the leading grocery technology platform in North America — one that partners deeply with retailers and brands, serves millions of families, and is pushing the industry forward through innovation across AI, retail media, and in-store technology.

I want to thank Fidji personally for the chance to lead this company, for the example she’s set, and for everything she’s done to make Instacart what it is today. It’s rare to step into a role shaped by such a clear long-term vision and a relentless focus on execution, and I’m honored to continue the work she set in motion. We’ve had a very close partnership over the last few years, and I’m grateful that it will continue in her role as Chair of the Board. I also feel incredibly fortunate to be stepping into this role alongside such a strong and experienced leadership team — people I’ve partnered with and built alongside of for years.

To be clear: our vision and strategy aren’t changing. We remain focused on building the technologies to power every grocery transaction, online and in-store. At the heart of that approach is our unwavering commitment to growing the pie for retailers and brands. That mindset has gotten us to where we are today, and it’s how we’ll continue to build because we win when our partners win.

We will also continue to double down on what makes Instacart special for consumers — exceptional quality, selection, affordability, and convenience — and for shoppers by providing more flexible earnings opportunities. And we’ll invent the future of grocery with our partners by continuing to invest in cutting-edge enterprise tools and technologies, as well as enhance our leading advertising ecosystem — both of which empower retailers and brands to scale, grow and meet the evolving needs of their customers.

These are the core reasons our partners and customers choose Instacart again and again. As we keep innovating — from smarter recommendations to new ways to shop together — we’re focused on helping people get what they need, when they need it, in ways that feel effortless and joyful.

Our opportunity is massive, and I’m excited to lead this team as we build on our momentum and take Instacart forward.
