How does the program work?
You can promote Instacart.com using your unique tracking link from Impact and earn a commission (either flat $ CPA or % revshare) on qualifying purchase events, such as a new customer’s first order (i.e. Activation) or an existing customer’s recurring order (i.e. Return Order). Instacart uses the Impact platform for tracking and payment purposes. When joined to Impact and accepted into our program, you will have access to performance reporting, creative assets, and tracking links.
How do I qualify for the program?
Any family-friendly blogger, publisher, or content creator with US and/or Canada-based traffic is eligible to join the program subject to Instacart’s Affiliate Terms & Conditions and the Instacart.com Affiliate team’s discretion. Partners must be able to receive commission payment via Impact and place their unique tracking links on their website, mobile app, and/or owned & operated marketing channels.
How do I start earning in the program?
You earn a commission when a qualifying purchase event is tied to your unique tracking link. Commissions are paid out via Impact approximately 55 days after the end of the month in which the purchase events occurred. Once your Impact balance reaches $10 USD (or equivalent), it is eligible for withdrawal to your bank or PayPal account.
How do I sign up for the program?
Click on the “Apply now” button to start your application via Impact. Our affiliate partnership will be subject to Instacart’s Affiliate Terms & conditions. Once your application is submitted, the Instacart.com Affiliate team will typically review applications within 1-2 business days.
Is there a fee to join the program?
No, the program is free to join. You will need to have an Impact account in order to join.
How can I access the program’s brand guidelines?
Once accepted into the program, the Instacart.com Affiliate team can provide brand and promotional guidelines upon request.
How do I know which Instacart affiliate program is the best fit?
Customer Affiliate: You are a website/app with US and/or Canadian-based traffic that focuses on Deals/Coupons; Cash Back/Loyalty; Content/Mass Media; Subaffiliate Network; Buy Now, Pay Later; EBT/SNAP; or the like. This is not an exhaustive list and we welcome you to reach out if you believe there is a good fit.
Influencer: You are a content creator with a blog and/or social media presence that attracts US and/or Canadian-based audiences.
IDP: You are a developer of any of the following: Meal planning app; personalized nutrition, food as medicine, and weight management; cooking apps and creator platforms, publishers and bloggers; other health, wellness and fitness; entertainment and travel. Are there guidelines I need to follow for the content I post?
Please refer to the Terms & Conditions found on your Impact contract and utilize the Affiliate Influencer Guidelines we have provided.
Can I showcase CPGs or Retailer Stores in my content?
Unfortunately no (unless otherwise specified by the Instacart team). Don’t show any trademarks, logos or packaging on products by removing the products from their packaging and placing them in a bowl or other container when shooting content.
How does the program work?
You will receive 5% commission of the total value of the cart from all orders completed from your app/website within a 7 day window. Your commissions may vary.
What happens if more items get added to the cart than were in my original recipe/shopping list?
The commission comes from the total of all items in the cart, including those that were not part of your original recipe/list.
Are there any exceptions?
Yes, alcohol, restaurants, prescriptions, and gift cards are not included in commissions. Instacart reserves the right to exclude any other product or product category in its sole discretion at any time.
Does the commission apply to orders placed by both new and existing
Instacart customers?
Yes, it does.
