Instacart and PHA expanded the Good Food at Home program to Detroit, Sacramento, and DC. These cities join the growing list of communities where we’re making produce more accessible – and helping families build healthy habits that last. This next iteration of the program extends from three months to eight months to better understand how sustained access can shape long-term healthy eating habits.

Instacart was proud to partner with over 300 national advocacy leaders and local nonprofits to advocate for the Summer EBT program and, later, encourage states to opt into the program. We applaud the bipartisan lawmakers at the federal and state levels who have made this important program permanent for millions of families across the country at a critical time of heightened food insecurity. As a corporate partner of the Mayors Alliance to End Hunger, we engaged over 800 mayors to encourage them to call on Congress to remove administrative barriers in order to expand Summer EBT programs.
