Actual Veggies is redefining plant-based eating with its premium veggie-forward products made from fresh, whole ingredients. Known for its restaurant-quality veggie burgers crafted from real vegetables, the company is on a mission to make clean, nutritious meals accessible to all. Since launching in July 2021, Actual Veggies has grown to a national presence, with its products now available in over 7,500 retail doors across the country.

Instacart Ads play an essential marketing role

Actual Veggies has been with Instacart Ads since day one of its nationwide launch. For a startup balancing limited budgets and big goals, Instacart quickly became an essential part of its strategy.

“Instacart was the very first place we invested any marketing dollars,” said Cassi Rosenbaum, Head of Marketing, Actual Veggies. “As a startup with a tight budget and a brand-new product, we had to be strategic—and Instacart was the clear choice. It offered us a direct path to reach high-intent shoppers at the point of purchase, ensuring visibility where and when it mattered most.”

Advertising on Instacart increased both brand visibility and sales performance for Actual Veggies, with their ad campaigns consistently delivering strong return on ad spend (ROAS). Working closely with the Actual Veggies team, Instacart has been able to provide insights on consumer behavior and advise on their campaigns — from which creative drives the most conversions to the most effective keywords. This collaboration has allowed Actual Veggies to continuously optimize their ad spend.

“We've been able to turn digital engagement into real in-store movement. For a frozen product like ours, that's a huge win—and proof that Instacart plays a critical role in connecting digital awareness with physical retail success,” said Rosenbaum.

Actual Veggies replaces direct-to-consumer channel with Instacart

Actual Veggies has replaced its direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales channel on its website with links to their page on Instacart. The move reflects the growing importance of Instacart as a conversion tool that bridges the gap between marketing efforts, tangible sales impact and getting its products to consumers in as fast as 30 minutes.

“We've seen steady growth in our online conversions, but even more importantly, we know Instacart is influencing in-store purchase behavior by increasing visibility and brand familiarity,” said Rosenbaum.

With new product innovations on the horizon and expanded partnerships, the future for Actual Veggies is bright as they continue on their mission to make clean, delicious, plant-based meals more accessible than ever.
