This New American cocktail was designed at a local bar in 2016. Whiskey can be swapped out, or if people want to get fancy they can smoke their own bourbon. Great for parties, too!

Ingredients Needed for Cocktail
- 2 oz High West Campfire Whiskey
- 2 Amarena cherries (or other tart cherries)
- 2 dash Aztec chocolate bitters
- Charred orange vanilla syrup4 navel oranges
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup hot water
- one split vanilla bean (can substitute with vanilla extract)

- Cocktail glass
- Bar spoon
- Knife
How to Make an "Old Smokeshow:" Step by Step
- Muddle cherries with bitters in a mixing glass.
- Top with ice and add 1 oz of orange-vanilla syrup and whiskey.
- Stir with a bar spoon and strain over a large cube of ice in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with an orange peel and amarena cherry on a skewer.
How to Make Charred Orange Vanilla Syrup
- Slice 4 navel oranges in half, brush with olive oil, and sear on a grill with medium high heat for 2 minutes.
- Flip and grill for an additional two minutes on the skin side. Set aside and let cool.
- Mix 3/4 cup sugar with 3/4 of hot water, stir until sugar dissolves in water.
- Add in one split vanilla bean, or half a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Juice grilled orange and combine with syrup.
- Refrigerate overnight or for 4 hours.
