Instacart's FoodStorm Expansion Accelerates as Grocers Upgrade Fresh Counters

FoodStorm more than doubles its reach to 2,800 stores, including Coborn’s Inc., Giant Eagle, Lucky Supermarkets, and Save Mart, that are now live with the platform
As people seek out more freshly prepared foods from grocers, many are turning to FoodStorm, Instacart’s order management system (OMS), to meet customer expectations and streamline perimeter counter operations. FoodStorm provides best-in-class functionality for grocery perimeter counters to streamline order ahead and foodservice operations, from made-to-order to catering and more.
Over the first half of 2025, FoodStorm has seen a rush of adoption across the U.S., and more than doubled the number of stores using the platform since the end of 2024*. FoodStorm is now live in over 2,800 stores across North America, and we are working to build on this momentum with more launches later this year. Today, we’re excited to welcome a new wave of retailers that have recently joined the FoodStorm community:
- Coborn’s Inc - live across four grocery banners in the Midwest: Coborn’s, Hornbachers, MarketPlace Foods, and Cash Wise
- Giant Eagle - live across two grocery banners in the Midwest and Eastern states: Giant Eagle and Market District.
- Lucky Supermarkets - live at all locations across the San Francisco Bay Area
- Save Mart - live at all locations across Central Valley in California
With FoodStorm, retailers can maximize sales and meet evolving consumer expectations by streamlining and enhancing prepared food operations. The platform manages the entire process - from ordering and preparation to pick-up - making it easy for customers to place orders, for kitchens to stay organized, and for teams to deliver a smooth, efficient experience.
